Ronald de Vlaming

Hi! My name is Ronald de Vlaming. I’m an assistant professor at the Department of Economics and member of the teaching staff of the Econometrics and Data Science bachelor. My research interests lie mainly in statistics, econometrics, numerical methods, matrix algebra, big data, and social-science genetics. If you’d ask me to summarise my professional mindset in one line, I’d say “equations are great fun!” Translating some conceptual, high-level question to a mathematical problem and, then, probing and understanding the dynamics of that problem is an endless source of satisfaction (even more so when there is a bit of stochastics involved :)). I wish you all the best of luck with your studies, and I hope to be seeing you around!
