Caseday 2019

The Caseday gives students the opportunity to come into contact with their future employer via presentations and interactive cases. Whether you are just starting to orientate yourself on your future path or already know what direction you want to go, this is the day where you can work on business relationships and get a sneak peek into the life after the VU! This year it took place in the Royal Tropical Institute, a wonderful atmosphere to develop yourself on a professional level.

The day started with a talk from Daniel Kurhaus from the political party VVD. He talked about his career path form econometrician to politician and how he applies his experience from working at financial institutions (for example during the financial crisis he went to Greece and Cyprus to fix a bail-out contract) to give better advice to the VVD regarding policy making.

After the opening speech the students went to their first case. There were several cases for which the students could apply, these cases are meant to give the students an idea what kind of practical uses there are within a company. The companies of the first round were CBS, RTL and Optiver. The employees first introduced themselves and their company and then provided the case.

After the morning cases there was the possibility to network with the first companies while consuming a good lunch.

With a well-filled stomach the students were ready for the next caseround where there were cases from TBA, Solid Professionals and Zanders. Find out more by clicking the logos below:

When these cases were finished there was the opportunity to have a networking drink with these last companies and the day was ended with a nice dinner at a Greek restaurant.
