We are a dynamic and rapidly growing software company located in the heart of Haarlem, just outside Amsterdam. Our international team develops impactful tools for energy market players. Role Overview
We are seeking Junior Matlab/Python developers who are passionate about clean code, smart systems, and shaping the future of energy markets. You will join a collaborative and talented team working on tools used by clients active in real-world energy markets. Whether you are an experienced developer or just starting your professional journey, we value strong programming skills, curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities Junior Matlab/Python Developer
- Develop and maintain Matlab/Python applications that support financial analysis, optimization and decision-making in energy markets
- Collaborate with a close-knit team to design features, improve performance, and deliver high-quality software
- Work with real-time and historical data from energy markets
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements, testing, and clean, maintainable code
- Utilize AI tools (like GitHub Copilot) to enhance development workflows and boost productivity
Required Qualifications
- Strong Matlab/Python skills – you have written substantial, well-structured code (whether in industry, personal projects, or academia)
- Comfortable with data-heavy problems: experience with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Polars or similar
- Pragmatic results-oriented developer, able to finish developments on time; clear focus on what clients demand, rather than researching for too long
- A university degree (MSc or PhD) in a scientific or technical subject (e.g. Quantitative Finance, Econometrics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics)
- An eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Experience with energy systems, trading, or renewables is a bonus, but not required
- We’re open to junior, mid-level and senior developers — it really depends on your experience and what you bring to the table
