The Job in a nutshell
As a Junior Actuary you support the Solvency II Reporting workstream and special projects to deliver on the commitments. This includes working with other experts to recommend a given methodology, prototyping workable tools for eventual implementation, and producing sound documentation.
You take ownership of the valuation of options and guarantees as part of the insurance liabilities and the development of actuarial methodology area around the valuation models and will help with ad-hoc tasks as needed. As a Junior Actuary you also support special projects within Finance as a means of assessing operational and financial impacts, as well as developing new models (in R and Python) and work towards the handover of deliverables under a special project to the eventual business owners throughout the organization.
Technical Development Program
This position is part of the Technical Development Program. The program is based on job rotation. Every two years, you will switch to another business unit in The Hague: Aegon The Netherlands, Aegon Asset Management, Aegon Group and Aegon Bank. These rotations (3 times max.) facilitate your development as a broad professional. Besides these rotations, we offer you everything to boost your development:

This is your future job because you:
As a Junior Actuary you have strong analytical skills with hands-on capability. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills, are process-oriented and have attention to detail. Lastly, you are agile and adaptive in a special project environment.
Moreover, you must have the following qualifications:
University degree in econometrics/mathematics/actuarial/finance studies;
0-2 years working experience in actuarial or financial analysis fields;
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets. Programming and database skills (R and Python) are desired;
Fluency in English (both written and oral);
Meet the requirements for the TDP.

This is what you will get
You will be earning between € 3.250, - and € 3.500,- based on your experience.
